1.  If we are alone in the universe - no, probably not.  Traveling just to see the landscape does not sound worth it.  To expensive and uncomfortable.  I don't even like planes, so I can't imagine the likely intergalactic transport to be much more up my alley.

 I used to think I was a dog, but it turns out I'm a cock.  Go figure.  Based on the description on the restaurant placemats, I'm pretty standard for either one.

Hmmm, lots of things.  I sold my car, which cost about $300 a month in payments and insurance.  I grocery shop at Aldi, very cheap groceries if you aren't really picky about brands. Red Dwarf!!!! I miss Lister, Rimmer, Cat, and Kryten.  Not Kochanski so much.  The books are even better than the show, but all Dwarf related stuff is awesome.  It fits into my universal view quite well, bleak with a thick layer of funny slapped on top so the pessimism is less obvious.  I feel a certain kinship with the space going odd couple, ( Read more... )

 Not that it isn't enjoyable, but I've had "Both Hands" by Ani DiFranco stuck in there for a while.  Just like 5 lines on perpetual repeat.  Nice, but enough is enough already.

Really easy - commute by bicycle, public transportations, or your own 2 feet.  Combine errands so that you don't have to make multiple trips, get a tune up, buy a hybrid, carpool.  It's not hard, people.

My first instinct was this:  The almost reflexive decision to do the right thing regardless of personal cost.  Good people weigh the options and then do the right thing assuming that it does not come with an overwhelming personal cost.  Heroes don't consider, they just react because their is no option to them to say no.
